Word and Life is truly a church with many different facets. An Afrikaans presiding pastor, a Greek Headpastor married to a lovely English lady. Basil grew up in Springs and later ran a business with his father. When he gave his life to God, he knew that God called him for full time ministry. He studied while he was still in business. Five years ago he was appointed as the head pastor of the English Church. Memory grew up in a pastor's house and thus knows all the ropes. Both Basil and Memory are excellent preachers and their congregation and the community love their vibrant teaching.

Although Word and Life's roots date back to 1940, (then known as AFM Parkrand) a new phase was started when Pastor Ronnie and Henriëtte Barnard accepted the call in 1990 to serve as presiding pastor.  In his heart he had a clear vision which God gave him for this congregation  namely "this church will be like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden" (Matt 5:14).

Past. Ronnie began his ministry at the young age of 20. Together with his lovely wife they started their first congregation in Jacobsdal. Within a short period he achieved great success and he moved on to even greater heights.

• We believe in the trinity of GOD.
• We believe in Jesus Christ, God thy father’s only Son. The true God that came to earth and became flesh. He that was crucified and died on the cross. He who rose from the dead, who ascended into heaven and sitting on the right hand of God the Father.
• We believe in the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin and who leads us in truth.
• We believe in the Bible as the Word of God, written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues and also in the gifts of the Holy Spirit which should be visible in every child of God.
• We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the church and that it is the church’s responsibility to preach the Gospel to all people.
• We believe in the baptism in water through submersion.
• We believe in the Holy Communion as commanded by Jesus during the Last Supper.
• We believe that God is coming back at the designated time to fetch His bride.
• We believe in the day of judgment when Jesus will judge all. We also believe in a glorified body, a new earth and a new heaven.
